Lower ground floor

Bedroom 3 (self-contained apartment): three large single beds (standard sizes) with ensuite bathroom (walk-in shower); Garage; Utility room.

First floor

Bedroom 4: master double bedded room (super king size bed) witn ensuite bathroom (bathtub and walk-in shower) and private terrace; Bedroom 5: double bedded room (king size) with ensuite bathroom (bathtub with shower over); Bedroom 6: single bedded room; Bedroom 7: double bedded room with ensuite bathroom (bathtub with shower over).

Mainly on two levels: entrance; Terraces; Gardens; Pool area and private grounds. 

Notes on Layout

Bedroom 2 (on ground floor with no steps) is adapted to suit people with reduced mobility (also wheelchair users for ocassional use only). It has a 90 cms wide door. The doors to the ensuite shower room are double, and can be taken off. 

The twin beds in Bedroom 1 can be made as a double on previous request.

Overview

Some properties seem to tick all the boxes: great facilities, nice setting, unique features and easy access to villages and or beaches… but a handful of properties go beyond that.
So what else could you expect from a superb holiday villa?

Excellent views, great privacy and seclusion, and also a good sense of style including an all-you-could-wish-for feeling.

The moment you arrive at the estate, there is already a sense of a nicely cared-for holiday home. When you walk through the door, the place feels airy and luxurious, bright and well-appointed. It is a stylish country home with a colonial feel, decorated tastefully with an eclectic mix of items from different parts of the world.

Designed by the property owners themselves, an architect and an interior designer, we had high hopes before we visited for the first time in October 2019, and it certainly lived up to the hype.

The villa has a pleasant architectural flow to it – you can tell it has been carefully thought out. It manages to capture tons of light and grants you unspoilt views to the rolling hills of Gaucin´s countryside from several spaces throughout the house.

Large groups of friends looking for a retreat, or families wanting to gather for their yearly holiday will find this villa a perfect match for their needs. Even the welfare of small children and people with reduced mobility have been addressed: there is a low gate that closes off the pool area and a bedroom adapted for people with some mobility issues on the ground floor.

All bedrooms are ample, with ensuite facilities except for the single bedded room which is better suited for a single child. The lower ground bedroom is like a self-contained apartment with three single beds, but unlike the remaining 5 bedrooms, the latter mentioned bedrooms both do not have air-conditioning.

A couple of bedrooms also benefit from their own private terrace with views, including the Master bedroom (please be aware that the lower rate available for smaller parties does not include the use of the Master bedroom).

Being able to enjoy comfortable temperatures year round is another valuable advantage which this property offers. Five of the bedrooms have air-conditioning systems and all rooms have comforting under floor heating, each with their independent thermostats, as do all the en-suite bathrooms.

Swimming outside peak summer season is yet another luxury at this house which is not so common in Spain. Bear in mind that if temperatures drop below 18°C, the heating is not as effective so this facility is only offered from spring to autumn, and not during the coldest months.

For those of you who use the pool for more than just a quick dip, its 11 metres in length grant you some quality laps as well.

Surrounding this irresistible pool are fantastic lush gardens with a mixed tropical and Mediterranean character; it feels like a real, green oasis in sunny Andalucia.

Outdoor living is also a plus at this villa, with good furniture spread out on the terraces for relaxing and an outdoor table located not far from the kitchen, great for al-fresco meals. Oh, and what a kitchen! Superbly equipped, with everything you might need, such as plenty of fridge space and even an icemaker.

And yet there is more beyond this world of well-being: the estate has a whopping 10 acres of private grounds, including pastures where sheep graze. The countryside is authentic and unspoilt, and the panoramic view of the mountains with the bay of Gibraltar as a backdrop, truly genuine.

Days out from this villa are easy. Don´t expect a long rural access track often associated with rural villas – it only takes a minute to join the road that takes you to pretty villages or the coast.

Our week at the villa was delightful. The house is well maintained, well equiopped (the kitchen especially) and very spactious and comfortable. All bedrooms except one were air conditioned, the pool was heated and there was unexpected maid service halfway through the week. The only small problem was getting in and out of the entrance, especially at night. There si a sharp turn off the highway, and one of our cars scraped itself on the rocks one dark night getting in. Suggestion: Move those rocks out of the way. But we highly recommend this property and would love to return ourselves one day."

The stay at the venue was great however there were a couple of issues: - We had 3 younger boys staying in the triple room (on the ground floor) however they ended up sleeping on the floor in the main lounge as the mattress were painful. also as its the hottest room in the house (next to the laundry) having no aircon was also an issue - A few times there were storms during the night and the electricity was cut, all was fine however on the penultimate night it happened the filter for the pool did come back on so we were unable to use the pool for the final day. Cristina was great. It would have been nice to have aircon in the main living space but we coped. Kind regards James"

Further to this feedback the property owner confirmed to us in January 2023 that they have put an extra fan and upgraded the mattresses in the basement room.

the booking was great and the villa was as billed. The only slight problem was that a snake got into the childrens bedroom on the ground floor and it was quite a scary situation having to catch it as we whink it was quite poisonous."

We are informed that snakes in this region are not known to be poisonous. Our team was also informed that finding a snale in a house is very unsual.
