Overview

Sweet oranges from Sevilla, white sand beaches of Malaga, and the flamenco sounds of Granada – this pretty family villa is well within striking distance of them all.

Set against a mountainous alpine backdrop, life in this holiday home is all about disconnecting from the outside world and getting back to nature. In the spring the fields run rampant with flowers.

The outside space of the villa invites al fresco living with beautiful privacy at every turn and Mediterranean flora in full bloom.

The generous gated 7-meter pool always seems inviting, with its D shaped steps and ladder.

The pool bar, barbeque area and loungers offer a great attractive space for sipping afternoon cocktails in the sun and grilling fish from the village.

The furnished porch is also a peaceful spot for lingering evening meals, especially as you can enjoy olive grove views. The outside space truly is a highlight of this property.

Moving inside and the home seems perfectly put together for a family. As the house is spread across one level it may also suit some guests with reduced mobility.

Bright and spacious décor offer functional living spaces, with three bedrooms.

The master bedroom is the superior of the three boasting ensuite facilities and king size bed.

The twin room is good for children, or if traveling with another couple – the beds can be pushed together.

Even though the property is perched in the Andalusian nature – the house still offers Wi-Fi for those who don’t want to fully tune out.

This house is a true find for those who want an easy, convenient and comfortable escape to the sun.

You can even park your car right beside the kitchen, making loading and unloading a breeze when you have been to market.

Le Joya village can be found just under 2 kilometers away. While it isn’t exactly a short stroll, it is scenic and shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes.

The traditional Spanish village offers a couple of restaurants and a small supermarket.

For those who prefer to stay local there are some great day trips close by. The Caminito Del Rey that crosses the El Chorro Gorge is a must for adventure seekers.

The 7 km stretch of path is pinned to the side of the gorge, offering heart stopping views of the turquoise waters 100ft below.

Visitors looking for a softer stroll can hike through the limestone rock formations at the Torcal Mountains.

Caroline | October | 2023

We had a lovely stay at the villa. The villa was clean and had all that you need to allow for a comfortable stay. Minor point is; if you prefer a duvet in the cooler months ( we were there in October) you might need to provide one yourself seeing the bedding is only a cotton sheet, wich is perfect in summer months. It was a pleasure dealing with Rustic travel and Maria . Very professional and great service. Thank you Caroline Guy"

The property is in a lovely location with beautiful views. It was clean and comfortable but one shower didn't work and the other needs updating the doors were only just hanging on. Some of the cutlery was dirty and the toaster didn't work. Everything else was fine and we had a lovely holiday."

Phil | June | 2023

We spent two weeks relaxing at this lovely villa. Outstanding features were the ever-changing views over the valley, and the excellent pool area. There was an abundance of wildlife, including regular visits by up to a dozen Griffon Vultures and a couple of noisy ravens. The villa was well appointed and maintained, and we found it useful having a separate shower and bathroom. Maria was very welcoming and introduced us to Google Translate and WhatsApp for efficient communication. She sorted out two minor problems very quickly (missing oven shelf and DVD player) and achieved her aim of making us feel ‘at home’. We are used to Spanish villas without air conditioning, so kept cool by opening windows at night and closing shutters during the day. Although the villa was tranquil most of the time, neighbours and a road were closer than we expected from the description, so the peace was sometimes disturbed by loud voices, barking dogs, and traffic noise. All were acceptable, except on 23/24 June when Malaga Province celebrates the summer solstice (Night of San Juan). The nearby village had live music until 1 am, which was tolerable, but then played loud techno music until 6 am. We got little sleep that night. We have used Rustical Travel several times and always found their properties and customer service are excellent."

This is a good villa with fantastic views. María met us on time and showed us around. Villa has everything we needed including heaters as it was a little chilly at night. Only problem was the very steep drive to the property which was a bit of a challenge!"

Adrian | April | 2023

Lovely area and the house was great it was the little details that let it down. On arrival the host didn't seem to interested (or didn't know) much about the area when questioned on things to do and came across as unhelpful. Basic things were missing which you would expect to find; no tea towel, no kitchen roll or serviettes, toaster was broken, one tray in the oven (slowing cooking down). As mentioned, the little things.... Really happy with Rustical Travel, I've rented a couple of properties the last couple of years and will continue to do so. Good, fast, efficient and lovely properties to choose from."

Rustical Update

To follow up on our talks with the manager, she confirmed that the additional oven tray was provided and the toaster replaced as soon as she was informed. She also claims she does point out to guests what to do in the areas (particularly about El Torcal), but her English isn't brilliant, and there is local info at the house, and she tells guests about this (it includes emergency phone numbers etc). Also commented that there are kitchen towels, dishwasher tablets and liquid, toilet paper etc...and usually kitchen paper which she forgot on this particular occasion.

This house is situated on a beautiful place! The pool and the gardens are really beautiful and nice! The house it self is a cosy house. The kitchen could be modernised. Like a good coffee machine. And some towels and powder for the dishwasher would be nice!"

This villa really is in the most beautiful, tranquil setting. If you’re looking for a “get away from it all” holiday and want to be surrounded by traditional rural Spain, this is for you. Literally did no more than laze around the pool all day looking at the most beautiful countryside views whilst watching the eagles soaring overhead, it was incredible. Maria was absolutely lovely and responded very quickly when we needed to get in touch with her. Google translate on our phones came in very handy for both of us! The only downside of the villa for us was that there was no air conditioning. However, we knew that when we booked but just hoped we’d be able to cope without it but it was a bit of a struggle to be honest, not helped by the fact we were there during a heatwave!! Daytime temperatures of 34-36 degrees ? but we survived!! Two portable fans were provided which helped a little, we were very grateful for them. If you’re looking for lively nightlife then this is not the place for you but if you’re happy to stay at the villa for the evening, just doing your own thing in your jarmies then it’s perfect! There is one bar/restaurant a few minutes drive away if you want to venture out for a night or two which offers Spanish cuisine, I found it strange there appeared to be no chicken on the menu, not sure why that would be? If you are a meat eater (veal, goat etc then you’ll like it) We would stay at this villa again just hopefully not during a heatwave!! Thanks Maria and Rustical Travel, we had a lovely time."

Rustical Update

Since October 2023 there is air conditioning in all bedrooms.

Spencer | June | 2021

The Villa was very pretty and secluded amongst agricultural farm lands with wonderful views. First impressions were excellent but a little daunting driving up the very steep access road that enters the properties gates. The Villa was spacious with good size bedrooms and large main living area. We knew there was no air conditioning but the property could benefit from some ceiling fans in the bedrooms. The kitchen was lacking some basics that we have come to expect from previous experience of other Rustical Travel rentals. Items such as dishwasher salt, antibacterial surface spray and some basic cleaning materials. We felt we were possibly the first clients of the season and maybe these were things that accumulate from leave behinds during the summer. A bottle of hand soap in the bathrooms would have been appreciated too. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool and outdoor areas, although the outdoor furniture was very dusty on arrival. The pool bar was great and offered shade, a sink and a barbecue for alfresco dining. A starter bag of charcoal or a small basic welcome pack would have been nice as local shops are a fair drive away. The pool was a good size for a family of four and it warmed up dramatically during the week. The gardener came and cleaned the pool half way through our stay which we appreciated. The villa representative was very punctual and friendly and available on WhatsApp. We really enjoyed our stay but a few low cost items would have made a good experience great."

Jonathan | June | 2019

We had a lovely stay here - the views were simply stunning with a gorgeous pool to relax by. The villa was clean, well apportioned and the host, Maria and her husband very helpful. The location is beautifully rural with the delightful town of Antequera just 30 minute drive from the villa. This is, of course, the Spanish countryside and while we accept there will be some barking dogs at night time there were some occasions when the noise seemed incessant. As someone has mentioned previously, the access to the property is via a very steep driveway so we would advise prospective visitors to consider hiring a car with a powerful engine or a 4 x 4. This is a lovely villa in a gorgeous location and had it not been for the noise of the dogs we would consider staying there again."

Rustical Update

Although the access track to this property is more or less steep, it is short, and the times we visited the property we didn't consider that a 4x4 was necessary. We recommend a car with reasonable power engine. As per the dogs, the property manager confirmed at the end of June 2019 that she has already sorted this out with the neighbours.

Waking up to the view every morning helps you to breathe again. I am home but think about different parts of our stay every day as a mini mindfulness session. Absolutely secluded. Breakfast just looking at the view in piece. Swimming when needing to cool or have exercise and fun. Clean Villa and a friendly, willing to please host/owner. Three weeks of rural honest Spain. (Ps Delicious local goats cheese). Came home feeling we had chosen completely the right place for us. If you are looking for an escape like we were.. don’t hesitate. I’m fussy too!"

David | May | 2019

We spent a very pleasant week at this very clean, comfortable and, apart from the rather dangerous toaster, well-equipped villa. The outside area is attractive - especially the pool area - and there are great views towards the coast. The lower part of the steep access drive is bumpy and quite difficult, even in first gear, and could do with repairing. The surrounding area is interesting to explore by car and there is a pleasant, welcoming bar/restaurant in the nearby village serving generous, good-value meals. You should, however, be sure to stock-up at a supermarket on the way, if arriving at a weekend, as there is no welcome pack."

Rustical Update

Although the manager confirmed that the access is a bit steep, it is easily manageable. As per the toaster, it works fine, but it is not the typical toaster which you put the bread inside; it is one of those where the bread is placed outside, on both exterior sides of the machine, so the hot areas are out in the open and need to be operated more carefully than a regular toaster.

This was a great villa for a couple who wanted to get away from it all! The villa itself was secluded and private but in a great location for easy access to a range of places in the Malaga province, as well as the provinces to the north. The villa was well equipped and very comfortable. The views from the front porch were amazing. We loved watching and listening to the goats on the hills being called in late afternoons and watching the small geckos catch their dinner on the porch ceiling in the evenings. The pool area was a lovely place to unwind and chill. We have stayed in villas in Andalusia for the past 6 years and the barbecue area was definitely the best we have encountered. The road up to the villa seemed quite steep to start with but we soon got used to it and we had no trouble in just a normal car. Maria was lovely and welcoming and we would definitely recommend it as a great place to stay!"

We stayed at this villa for 2 weeks in September/October 2018. We had not used ristical travel before and we were very impressed by them at all stages of booking/pre travel etc. Thank you a very friendly but professional approach. The villa was our home for 2 weeks and we were not disappointed in anyway. It is as described and incredibly well equipped and so clean. The owner and daughter again were lovely and created the amazing time we had. Location...it’s as described great views from outside sitting areas and olive trees as neighbours. Would definitely use the company again. We walked into the villa and it felt like we were the first people to do so which takes a lot of work so thank you and we hope everyone likes it as much as we did."

The villa was absolutely fantastic. Easily the best we have stayed in. The location was superb, relaxing with excellent views from the dining table. The wildlife was amazing to watch and we spent many an hour watching the bees busily at work. The pool area was fantastic. We loved every minute of it. The villa itself was really well equipped and catered for all our needs. Antequera, about 30 minutes in the car, was a great place to spend a few hours, buying essentials and grabbing a coffee. Maria, the owner, was lovely and very helpful. This is the second property we have stayed in, booked through Rustical Travel, both have been excellent and the customer service is outstanding. Would love to go back!"
