Notes on Facilities

At the front of property, outside the house, there is kid´s playing area with slide & table tennis. It is public for everyone in the village, but it can be used by guests.

The pool solar heating is only effective in warm months, usually from at least late May to end of September.

Overview

Sometimes simple things seem to tug at the heart and after a week traversing the Catalonian countryside looking at properties; this humble abode whispered sweet nothings into our ear.

Many of the homes we see are sculpted into acres of land, boast historical features, and pull the wow factor out of the bag. This one was different.

It murmured an easiness with its intimate small gardens, warm colored woods, and comfortable cottage feel.

Spread over three floors we think a family of 6 could relax comfortably here, 8 at a push.

Prepare to battle with the rest of the family for the master bedroom that sweeps the entirety of the third floor, complete with ensuite bathroom and its own personal living room. That’s not to say the remaining 3 bedrooms aren’t good enough; the rooms are quaint and without frills or features, but provide a fine place for catching up on shuteye.

Whilst the inside is sweet and simple with its houseplants bringing a dash of green, it’s open plan living and dining, and its modern and bright bathrooms, it’s the private outside space that truly knocks this property up a notch.

The L shaped pool is solar heated making it a cool respite in summer, but a recipe for goosebumps out of season.

The small grassy lawn invites you to stretch out with a chilled sangria, and the al fresco dining space encourages sunset suppers overlooking the hazy heights of the Pyrenees.

Both times we swung by this property we were treated to views of the sun melting like gold behind the green hills.

The verandah that wraps around the outside space provides a great vantage point for watching the changing light from the first flush to the final flourish.

We thought this would be the perfect family nook; with its children’s slide and tennis table outside, the tucked away hamlet, and the easy self-contained feel.

For adventure seekers the gateway to the infamous peaks of the Pyrenees is only 30 minutes away for scenic drives. For those who prefer to stay local then a short 45-minute brisk walk away you will find a virginal blue Rialb lake ideal for picnics.

Whilst the village doesn’t offer facilities it is a slice of genuine Spanish life.

Like a scene from Cinema Paradiso; you can gaze at the spire of the 12th century church on your doorstep and let the little ones run wild in the countryside.

The earliest folds of the Catalan Pyrenees, in the Baronia de Rialb region. This is a Mediterranean region of unspoilt villages, Romanic chapels, rivers and pine forests, all around the large Rialb lake.

Wonderful place to stay. Such a beautiful place. Facilities are very good. Pool is salt water, lots of space, very high quality bathrooms. Owner is very helpful and her English is very good The Villa is 20 minutes ftom the nearest town so you need to plan when you go out. The lake is beautiful and has boats, kayaks etc to rent."
