Overview
This holiday home is in an enviable location for nature lovers, situated in the heart of the Serrania de Ronda.
From this holiday home, you can walk to a small village with some simple facilities like a little shop. It only takes 10 minutes to walk to the small train station, which allows us to explore the region without a car. Although the train times are limited, it's still a great way to see more of the area.
It is also 10 minutes drive from the historical Cortes de la Frontera originating from the Phoenicians and with an interesting Nasrid past, as well as 20 minutes from the picturesque white village of Gaucin.
This is an unbeatable place to stay, whether you're active and enjoy outdoor activities, such as hiking or climbing, or you just want to relax and take in the dramatic scenery. If you're looking for a wild swimming spot, the Las Buitreras gorge (about 9 kms away) is one of our favourites.
This property is surrounded by vegetation on fertile land irrigated by the waters of the nearby river Guadairo.
The interior of the house is simple but functional and certainly adequate for self-catering holidays, with its characteristic wooden beams and terracotta floors.
From the furnished porch, which is ideal for al fresco dining, you enter the lounge/dining room/kitchen. The kitchen is new and has all the amenities you normally need. The space is ample and well-lit. The living room is small but cosy and comfortable for up to 4 people. The layout is all on one floor, which is easy.
From the living room, we have access to the two bedrooms - one with a double bed and the other with two single beds. The bedrooms are comfortable and equipped with infrared radiators for winter days and mosquito nets on the windows to keep them open on summer nights, allowing the refreshing, clean mountain air to enter.
A few steps outside takes us to the fabulous, fenced, good sized swimming pool (pool terrace renovated with new surface in 2025)., which is sure to be a favourite playground for all the family. The pool bar has a fridge so we can enjoy our favourite refreshments whilst relaxing on one of the comfortable sun loungers surrounding the pool. You often enjoy the pleasant aroma emanating from the aromatic plants by the pool terrace, predominantly lavender and rosemary.
The estate owners live next door and they are a lovely couple. They are always respectful of their guests' privacy, but they are also always on hand for anything you might need. They have two adorable little dogs and three friendly cats. Even though the animals are not allowed in the accommodation, it is possible that they will come to the porch to say hello. So, we do not recommend this house for people with allergies to pet hair.
Surrounded by nature's beauty, it's easy to feel at peace here. The chirping of the birds among the different trees that surround us - orange, lemon, walnut, olive and palm trees - is soothing, and the occasional passing of the train on its way to Ronda is the only thing that interrupts the silence. We found the passing trains to be calming and in fact, quite charismatic!

Beautiful valley at the heart of Ronda mountains, you are here on the borders with Grazalema Natural Parklands.
Just outside the small village of Cañada del Real Tesoro (simple shopping). Access by 500 metres of paved rural track. All you need is an ordinary car.

It exceeded all our expectations. The photographs on the Rustica website do not do justice to the pristine property particularly to the modern pool facility. The surrounding gardens were immaculate. The owners care for and maintain the property with superb attention to detail . It’s a super holiday but sadly flew by too quickly. We will be back. Cannot recommend it enough."
