Overview

Travellers seeking an authentic slice of Spain will find all the ingredients they need at this rustic farmhouse close to the Ronda Mountains.

Nestled in the foothills of a wooded valley, this traditional Spanish Finca delivers a truly authentic experience of Andalucía, only five minutes from the charming sun-bleached village of Gaucin.

Owned by a local family who live in nearby village, guests can be sure that help and assistance is on hand whenever they need it. You get here spacious grounds with a private pool and lovely lawn give way to rambling countryside, divided by a fence and a handful of sheep. You can be sure of excellent privacy during your stay.

This is wonderful rustic living with both sun and shade on hand for lingering afternoons beside the pool.

A simple built-in barbeque and seating area invites easy suppers with superb views of the mountains.

Inside the farmhouse you will find a well-equipped kitchen and pretty features like a wood-burning fire, rustic beam features, exposed stone, and a summery feel that seeps into every corner.

The kitchen bar with stools invites a delightful place to sit and nibble on tapas in the late afternoon. The al fresco space on the patio is also only a few steps from the kitchen.

The layout of the home and the grounds is particularly suitable for families with slightly older children who will adore the gated pool, outside space, and ease of access to the village in 5 minutes by car.

Gaucin is a glorious little place, with shops and restaurants lining the medieval streets and lofty views of the Ronda Mountains.

The location is unrivalled for those with a car who love the great outdoors.

You can travel down from the mountains to the sea in less than thirty minutes; perfect for those who love cruising fish bars and splashing in the sea. Families seeking a simple reasonably priced place to stay amid rugged scenery will find this home more than adequate.

Setting

Wooded Mediterranean valley with farmland. The early folds of Ronda mountains.

Location

Access down a 1 km rural track from the country road to Gaucin. Although the track is unmade and there is a part slightly steep, we found it not challenging and all you need is an ordinary car (not low-slung sports cars).

YOUR REVIEWS

Shona | August | 2019

The property was delightful with great indoor and outdoor space plus the pool area was lovely. The only slight issue was the rough road to access the property and the rather lively, barking dog that used to chase the car and imagine that might be unsettling if you had younger children."

Rustical Update

We have been informed that the dog is there to protect the sheep nearby.

Jo | July | 2019

We had a lovely time and Juan Luis was an excellent host. He provided everything we could need for the house, which was much appreciated. The setting is wonderful and we loved watching the goats going up and down the hill. The only negative was the final section of track to the house which needs upgrading."

Rustical Update

On August 2019 we have been informed by the property manager that the last part of the track to the house is a bit worn-out due to the normal use and the occasional rains, but they have plans to upgrade it before the 2020 season starts.

Hugh | July | 2018

Had a fantastic holiday, owner met us (Juan) and could not be more helpful, had wine and water for us when we arrived, showed us around the farmhouse, and checked/cleaned the pool every other day, Farmhouse spacious with everything you need. Would recommend it as a great place to get away from it all out in the country side."

Fantastic place! Stunning location and the hist had thought of everything. Clean, beautifully furnished house. Quiet, close enough to Gaucin for everyday needs but far enough away to feel like a secluded location. Car absolutely essential."

Carlton | April | 2018

Very sorry this is so late. We would just like to say we had a wonderful week at Arroyo del Moro. Our host Louis was very nice and helpful and available if needed which was very reassuring. The property was exactly as expected and there were no complaints. Access to the private land around the property was especially nice to explore Many Thanks, Carlton"
