Overview

We couldn’t help but fall hard for this stunning villa perched above the sea on the tropical coast of Granada.

Quite possibly the most beautiful seafront properties on our books; endless charm, tailored character and soaring levels of comfort come together to create a stunning holiday retreat in Andalusia.

Sitting 300 meters as the crow flies, in a direct line from the sea, this warm and happy holiday home is a microcosm of the whole Mediterranean.

The blue infinity pool seems to blur with the sky and sea, the terraced tropical grounds flourish and bloom, and the dominating views are completely uncluttered.

Being carved into the steep cliffside also ensures that no other properties can peer over – the sense of privacy is perfect.

4000 square meters of private land gives space to rest and play. While not as practical as flatland, the views make it all worthwhile.

The gardens permeate the air with sweet jacaranda and mimosa and tropical mangos and passion fruit can also be plucked from the branches.

The infinity pool is beautiful against the blue backdrop, and for those traveling out of the long summer season – the pool has the option to be heated. However, as the sultry Andalusian weather stays temperate from May until September, most guests will prefer the cooling splash on hot afternoons.

A hot tub also enhances the luxury touch, especially when dreaming of cocktails, stars and sea-views.

Inside, the property has a warmth that few functional beachfront properties can boast.

Arranged across one floor with views overlooking the pool and the sea; every touch is stylish and splashed with color to bring that easy breezy vibe.

The main kitchen and lounge are bright and beautiful – we especially liked the central island in the modern kitchen as it offered a social space for cooking.

Moving seamlessly into the attached diner and lounge – soaring windows deliver a conservatory style, when paired with the thatched roof and ethnic touches – the elegant beach club feel captures the mood of the tropics.

The dining room opens out to the tantalizing terrace, offering the choice for indoor or al-fresco dining.

Four bedrooms all have good mattresses and three also offer en-suite facilities.

The master bedroom is enchanting, with an emperor sized bed, quality furnishings, and a terrace that sweeps out to sea.

One of the double bedrooms offers an extension with a further two beds, making it an ideal room choice for families with two children wanting close proximity.

Another bedroom is also a little darker than the rest, but the bathroom floods with light to bring a certain cheeriness.

This stunning villa doesn’t skip a beat and boasts all the fab facilities you need for a high class comfortable stay.

While the home doesn’t have A/C, the natural sea breezes that blow through keep everything cool and ceiling fans in the bedrooms can bring that added freshness.

This is a villa that lives and breathes wonder throughout the seasons.

We visited in the early summer 2018 and stopped by at both the first and last light of day. It was difficult to choose which time of the day seemed the most special – siesta hours sparkle with soft light and serenity, but the evenings prickle with warmth and lavish al-fresco living.

Stepping outside of your own tropical paradise and the surroundings are also special.

While, the house is situated on a steep hill, confident drivers won’t be intimated.

Unspoiled coves, famous fish restaurants and blue flag beaches can all be found within a 10-20-minute drive. There is also a beach directly below the villa, while walking would be too difficult, the quick 2km drive puts you right in a wild spot far from the beaten track.

Wild swimming and hiking in the Rio Verde Canyon can also be found 30 minutes away, and the postcard pretty village of Frigiliana is also a half hour drive.

We love this area; where you can find yourself moving from warm sands to the exotic magic of Alhambra, and the snowy peaks of the high Alpajurras all in one day. Those seeking something rare will adore this very special spot.
