With gorgeous countryside all around, this large villa is perfect for guests wishing to host an event or simply indulge in a large, private estate for their own delight. You are not too remote either; lively Aracena town, and other pretty villages offering good bars and restaurants, are less than a 10 minute drive away. This rural accommodation is charming and genuine, the setting is idyllic. Sleeps 18/20.

  • Normal check-in time: 5 pm – 10 pm; Normal check-out time: 10 am.

  • The swimming pool is open from 01st June to 01st October, weather permitting  (this period may be possible to extend on request).

  • Events (i.e. a wedding) may be permitted on request, in which case an event fee and special conditions would apply. Additional services are available on request. Please ask.

  • An event fee of 1,800€ applies if an event is celebrated at the property.

  • The maximum number of people allowed during any event is 300 people.

  • Pets may be permitted on request, in which case a fee will apply. Please ask.

  • The guest house (or annexe) is closed unless you book the accommodation for 9 bedrooms (sleeps up to 18 people).

Overview

You may believe you are looking at a boutique country hotel at first. And while you would be mistaken, that is precisely what makes this property so unique!

You are actually looking at a beautiful, private villa with its own pool, large gardens and unlimited indoor space, all for one large group of family or friends to treat themselves to.

With nearly one thousand acres of land, this is currently the property with the largest grounds on our books… there is indeed a lot to explore around this estate.

The villa accommodation is equally as exciting, and it is the result of a lengthy project carried out by a local family who naturally take pride in their 5 year restoration work.

Originally a 19th century olive mill with a house; the large room where the functioning mill stood has now been renovated to offer 400m2 of open living space with different areas.

We particularly liked the features and details you can find in every corner, including the use of the original stone, arches and its incredibly high ceilings.

This vast, airy room makes for an ideal event venue, or simply a place for large groups who appreciate space and independence.

You can tell the cobbled patios were restored with remarkable patience, adding yet another characterful feature to the overall picture.

The rest of the house, such as the bedrooms, receptions, the smaller living room, etc also preserves some of the original features. You can actually feel how the villa´s thick walls still breathe history.

Each bedroom has en-suite facilities and is decorated to a high standard with good attention to detail (you won't find Ikea furniture around!).

Even though all bedrooms are twin bedded, beds can be pushed together – practical for families with unique sleeping arrangements.

Sitting just adjacent to the main house is an additional one bedroom annexe which increases the total capacity to up to 18/20 guests.

An excellent team of helpful staff are behind the property and are there to assist you during your stay. Your privacy is respected and you will have the feeling of being on your own surrounded only by the beautiful countryside, with the added plus of having a local team just a phone call away.

The access to the property is easy and getting to good local restaurants and supermarkets entails less than 10 minutes of a trouble-free drive, compared to other remote rural villas that are accessed by longer, unmade tracks.

The whole region is thrilling and it is still a relatively undiscovered natural spot that has started to become a real favourite for some who have noticed its potential. The local cuisine, the well-preserved forests and the genuine, pretty villages make for a truly great holiday destination without the touristy hassle.

A favourite guest activity is horse riding around the private estate. A nearby stable allows you to hop on a horse and magically discover your nearby surroundings or even venture further out into the mountains.

No matter how dry you may think Andalucia is this unique region actually benefits from both a proper, long dry season from May to October, and rather wet winters which irrigate the forests, bringing them to life. It is a special natural spot that is well protected and kept unspoilt.

Aracena town is lovely with great places to eat-out. Be sure to try dishes from their own, unique gastronomy. Large supermarkets are also available if you wished to prepare meals at home.

Rustical tips: as of 2019, we found a couple of places where you can rent bikes to explore the area on two wheels. We also liked the excellent breakfast by the main square that served fresh orange juice, good café con leche and toasted bread with tomato topped with Aracena's ever famous local jamon.
